The snake and some of his compatriates, though, are both dangerous and cunning. I have seen firsthand how terrifying they can be. That fellow who died at the hands of Stormy-san was a walk in the park.

Are they so common...? This was my first time encountering one. And I certainly had heard nothing about the dangers regarding the birds.
